Features "STAINLESS STEEL" stamped barrel, full matted rib, single bead, plain walnut pistol grip stock with flutes, Winchester monogram black composite buttplate, 14 groove corncob style walnut forearm. Stainless steel barrels were never popular, saw low production rates, and are extremely scarce; especially desirable in 20 bore with solid rib. Because they could not be blued, they had a painted finish that quickly wore off, making them extremely unpopular. CONDITION: This barrel is basically stainless steel in color with no visible black enamel except for underside of barrel. Tube has approximately 50% of its blue. Frame is a mix of blue and soft brown patina. Razor sharp legends. Wood is excellent and proud to metal with light handling marks and no cracks. Near mint, clean, shiny bore and fine action. Nice, clean, all original and untouched example.
