Beautiful factory engraved rifle with 22" tapered round barrel, ramp front sight, and folding rear sight. It has beautiful game scene engraved nickel-plated receiver with a large vignette of a bull elk in a mountain scene on the left side and a mountain lion in a woodland scene on the right side. All surrounded with beautiful foliate leaf and vine patterns with fine punch dot background. Top tang and lever are engraved to match. Thumb safety on the top tang and trigger are gold plated. It is fitted with very beautiful, highly figured, center crotch cut, shell grain American walnut with checkered tapered forearm, pistol grip Monte Carlo stock, and serrated Savage alloy buttplate. CONDITION: Appears to be unfired, retaining virtually all of its fine original factory finish to both metal and wood with only a 1/4" spot of roughness on the barrel at the forward left tip of forearm and a couple of minor marks in the buttstock varnish. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bore. CORRECTION: This is a Model 99M PE. There is a small hairline crack at tang.
