(ca 1903) 26 - 3/4" barrels with full length broad matted rib engraved with retailers name and address, has rib fitted with one standing, one folding leaf rear sight, and silver bead front in raised portion of rib forming front ramp. Barrel flats are stamped with Imperial German rifle proofs for 7.5x59. (A 30-40 rifle cartridge drops into chambers.) Case hardened round body sidelock action features non-automatic tang safety, folding tang sight, side clips, bushed strikers, crossbolt third fastener, raised rib tumbler end cocking indicators, and double triggers. Shotgun barrel is fired using cocking lever on left side, which enables rear trigger to fire. A pin type cocking indicator is on left side of top lever. Action is engraved with 60% coverage very nicely cut scroll. Makers name and address is at the front of each lockplate, and German patent number "78411" is on trigger plate. Steel trigger guard engraved with scroll on bow has serial number on tang. Striking well streaked and beautifully fiddle figured European walnut steel capped pistol grip buttstock measures 14 - 1/8" over ribbed horn buttplate. A cartridge trap with space for four rifle cartridges under hinged cover, is on toe line. Point pattern checkering is at grip. Matching forend with schnabeled tip has Deeley release. Weight: 9 lbs. 4 oz. CONDITION: Excellent, as nicely restored. Barrels retain nearly all of a rust re-black over some scattered pits, one or two fairly deep. Action retains nearly all of a re-color hardening, colors muted, predominantly blue. Stocks are nicely refinished over some marks and dings, checkering re-cut. Rifle bores are good, with some erosion at throats, and a few scattered pits (may clean). Shotgun bore is excellent, with a shallow dent 4" back from muzzle, forcing cone lengthened. Action is tight, Barrels are on face. MGM145
