(1935 Remington Era) This high condition gun has 26" barrels marked "PARKER BROS MAKERS. MERIDEN CT. U. S. A. PARKER SPEC.STEEL" on slightly raised concave rib. All correct markings including skeet chokes and Parker overload proofs are on barrel flats and lumps. Remington repair code "CH3" (April 1938) is also present. Case hardened number 0 action features non-automatic safety and single selective trigger. Action is engraved in typical "G" style with sprays of scroll within geometric borders surrounding vignettes of game birds on sides; ducks on left and quail on right. A pair of pheasant are in circular vignette on trigger plate. "PARKER" is on bottom of action in usual late style. Blued trigger guard with scroll on bow has serial number on tang. Gun matches specs as set forth in the Parker ledger, including single trigger and large forend. Relatively plain American walnut straight grip buttstock measures 13 - 7/8" over Hawkins pad. Widely spaced point pattern checkering is at grip, and a German silver shield is on toe line. Long beavertail ejector forend has correct reinforcing bolt and usual Deeley type release. CONDITION: Excellent, appears to be little used since factory work done in 1938. It appears that this work included re-blacking barrels and possible refinishing of stock. Barrels retain nearly all of a factory quality re-black. Action retains approximately 80% original case hardening color, silvered on fences and beads, and on bottom, from normal hand wear. Trigger guard has been re-blued and retains nearly all of that blue. There is some rust spotting at front of bow. Stocks retain essentially all of what appears to be their original factory finish, or possible refinish. Bores are excellent. Action is tight. Barrels are on face. Mechanically excellent. This is a really nice little Parker. MGM144.
