This is an extremely rare Model 1886 deluxe Winchester loaded with special features and in one of the rarest of all calibers for this model. This was shipped as a .38-70 half octagon rifle with half magazine, shotgun rubber buttplate, nickel steel and plain trigger on June 25th, 1906. Sights are not listed but comes with a sporting front sight and Winchester two leaf folding rear sight, along with a tang sight. CONDITION: Barrel retains approximately 60% blue with sharp legends, balance thinning to gun metal grey with area of light pitting on left side of barrel. Frame has about 50% blue on left side and 40% on right, blending with patina. Balance point is worn bright. Flashes of color on lever and hammer. Stocks are proud to metal, exhibit beautiful grain, sharp checkering and pistol grip cap. Well defined rifling with frosty grooves. Bore is very good with strong rifling with slight frosting and pitting in grooves. The action operates smoothly and properly. An uncommon rifle in an honest used condition.
