Features include long frame, round pencil barrel with dovetailed inverted V front sight, V notch rear sight on rear toggle link. Extractor is marked "Geladen". Safety in the white at the lower position. Wide grip safety. Walnut checkered grips. Eight round detachable box magazine. The gun is all matching including the magazine. Two piece wood grips with sharp checkering. Abercrombie & Fitch Swiss Luger with a barrel address of “ABERCROMBIE & FITCH Co. NEW YORK” & “MADE IN SWITZERLAND” on top of 4-3/4" barrel with distinctive, unique to this model, front sight boss with ramp starting 3/16" from muzzle. Completed firearms were not allowed to be exported from Germany right after World War I because of Treaty of Versailles restrictions. These pistols without barrels were shipped from Germany to Switzerland to be finished. This pistol has correct Geneva cross and sunburst over chamber, no proofs on receiver, unnumbered recoil lug, DWM scroll on front toggle link, Nickel eight round magazine with correct un-numbered wood bottom. Approximately 100 of these were imported and the majority of them were in the 'i' suffix range with a four digit serial number. The serial number on the bottom of the barrel is stamped parallel instead of across the barrel in a font differing from that on remainder of pistol and does not have the suffix letter. It also has the Bestchus/Bernerprbe proof for testing barrels 40% over the normal pressure. CONDITION: Gun has been professionally restored and retains approximately 98% deep rust blue finish. Comparable condition strawed small parts. Near mint bore with sharp lands and grooves. A very rare and desirable gun and would be the centerpiece of any Luger collection.
