A very large and monumental bronze sculpture depicting a stage coach with a six horse team riding through the open countryside while under attack by three Indians on horseback. One Indian is about to mount the roof of the coach and another has grabbed the reigns of the lead horse, all while the occupants of the coach are firing rifles from within. This is a very well-detailed sculpture, which could be considered one of the artist's best showpiece bronzes. The wood base is mounted with a brass plaque with the title and name of artist. Ray Bentley personally commissioned this bronze with Rusty Phelps. The rifle of the individual on top of the stage coach is bent and there are minor issues with the horse's reigns which need reattaching; the surfaces are undisturbed with a dark brown color and fine patina. From the Ray Bentley Collection.
