Referred to as the .44 Hand Ejector First Model, aka New Century, Triple Lock .44 Military Model of 1908. This is a six shot, fluted cylinder, double action with N frame, frame screw, pinned barrel. Matching numbers on barrel and cylinder. Profusely engraved with almost full coverage in a basic floral and leaf pattern, and completely nickel plated. Inscribed on backstrap "H.L. Clayton". The Triple Lock was in production from 1907 to 1915 with 15,375 manufactured. The engraving style is absolutely Wolf & Klar, especially in conjunction with the steer head ivory grips. This lot, along with the previous lot, were embellished in an identical manner in all respects, with the exception of serial number. The deluxe carved ivory grips features a longhorn steer head with ruby eyes, copper horns, and copper nose ring on the right side; left side grip is plain ivory. CONDITION: Retains 98-99% of the original custom applied nickel done at the time of the Wolf & Klar type engraving. Grips are excellent and well aged. Action is tight. Bore is a bit frosted but has sharp rifling. This is the type of revolver that would have been sold to a Texas peace officer or ranger. A great pair of West Texas adorned big bore revolvers.
