Blade is slightly curved and has been shortened into a clip point form and has been sharpened. Each side has a wide shallow fuller. Pierced brass 1850 foot officers sword type hilt with wreath around "CS" below a star on the front of the guard. Leather wrapped grip decorated in twisted brass wire. Quillon in back of part of knucklebow with attachment is absent. CONDITION: Poor. Blade shows a dark patina with some more recent sharpening and heavy wear. Guard shows traces of gilt with a dark patina and is loose. Grip shows some losses to wrap.
