(1903) 30" barrels with standard concave matted rib are marked "PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN, CONN. TITANIC STEEL" on rib. All correct markings are found on barrel flats and lumps. Case hardened 1 - 1/2 size action features non-automatic safety and nickel plated double triggers. Action is engraved in unusual "C" style where dogs are usually found on the sides of the action, there are large ribands engraved "PARKER BROS" that terminate in large scrolls. There are small circular vignettes toward rear with a pointing pointer on left and alert setter on right. Trigger plate is engraved with a portrait of a woodcock. (This cataloger has not seen this pattern of engraving before, and this was most likely special ordered. Factory letter might confirm.) Nicely marbled and attractively fiddle figured European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14 - 1/4" over skeleton buttplate. Stock features usual lozenge shaped drop points and semi fancy wraparound pattern, along with a vacant silver oval on toe line. Matching splinter ejector forend is near fully checkered and patent date is on Deeley type release, and ejector date is on iron. Specs match those listed in Parker ledger. 379 12 gauge "CH" grade hammerless guns were made, with Titanic steel barrels, 269 were 30" barrels. CONDITION: Good to fine, as partially refinished. Barrels retain about 70% of an old re-black over some scattered, fairly deep, pitting. Action is cleaned to coin finish with some remaining case color where protected, by trigger guard bow and top lever. Stocks retain a considerable amount of what appears to be their original finish with numerous marks and dings, worn through on high edges. Checkering somewhat worn and dark. Bores appear to be excellent, but are dirty, with a few very minor pings evident. Action is a bit loose. Barrels are slightly off face. Ejectors are in time. An unusual and handsome old Parker.
