Lot consists of (A) John Wayne Commemorative Bowie, produced by the Franklin Mint. This gargantuan knife has a beautifully etched blade depicting an eagle with an American flag in its talons and a ribbon with "THE JOHN WAYNE COMMEMORATIVE BOWIE" in its mouth. There are three divots on the spine of the blade and is serial numbered 06664. Furniture has extensive decoration including rope and floral designs. Pommel has sterling silver portrait of John Wayne. Quillions have a horseshoe design on one side, and the famous Red River logo on other. Comes in glass and wood display case with certificate of authenticity and two business cards with "JOHN WAYNE / BATJAC PRODUCTIONS / 1022 PALM AVENUE / HOLLYWOOD CALIFORNIA" on one side, and a printed signature on the reverse reading "Good Luck John Wayne". CONDITION: Very fine retaining virtually all of its factory finish with only traces of handling marks. Display case was repaired at one point with scattered handling and marks from the repair. Some glue is visible in spots. (B) is a Linder dagger marked "Linder" "Dagger" "HANDMAGE / SOLINGEN / GERMANY INOX". Bulbous brass quillions, horn and wood handle, steel pommel. Accompanied by an appropriate leather sheath marked "LINDER" on throat, and "MADE IN GERMANY" on belt loop. CONDITION: Blade is excellent, and quite highly polished with no nicks or chips. Brass quillion has darkened. Handle and pommel are good with no losses and trace handling marks. Scabbard is good with some handling marks and scrapes. Stitching still tight. Some disfiguration at interior of throat, probably from knife being inserted at the wrong angle. (C) is an Imperial sawback knife with two piece steel furniture and resin grips. Comes with brown leather sheath. CONDITION: Blade is in good used condition with patination along blade. Furniture has scattered marks from use and a few areas of age freckling. Initials "JB" carved into right side of guard. Sheath is in good used condition with numerous bumps, bruises, nicks, and creases. Snap has lost most of its matching color paint as well as the connector. Stitching has broken and is starting to work its way loose. (D) is an Imperial M-7S survival knife with 6 - 3/4" blade with sawback spine and serrated tip, buttclaw and hammer. Accompanying nylon sheath has two pockets for tools. Top pocket has a magnesium firestarter and compass. Bottom pocket has survival kit including safety matches with flint pad, ring saw, sewing needle and thread, fishing hook, line, and sinker. CONDITION: Fine. Blade of knife scuffed from sheathing and unsheathing. Sheath is fine, survival kit is still stapled shut. Other tools show signs of use. (E) is an Anton Wingen Jr Knife with blade marked for SOLINGEN. Trailing point 5" blade. White plastic handle. Comes with a leather sheath with woven edges. CONDITION: Knife is used with patination along blade. Some scratches and knicks to pommel. Blade has a few minor dents. Sheath is fine, front with some water damage. Weaving still reasonably tight. A nice set of knives.
