Offered is a Pre-Model 27 Smith & Wesson built on the five screw N Target frame, pinned barrel, recessed chambers, Patridge front sight, target adjustable rear sight, case colored hammer and trigger, six shot, double action. Matching numbers. The gun was masterfully engraved in scroll and punch dot with nearly full coverage. The crane, cylinder pin, and cylinder were gold plated, as was cylinder release. Left side has a solid gold inlaid wild boar. Four frame screws are gold plated on right side. It was then beautifully finished in high polish blue, retaining the razor sharp legends, and lastly was fitted with a pair of real Mother of Pearl grips. CONDITION: Cylinder face shows no signs of burn, indicating it has not been fired since embellished. There is some light finish wear at back of trigger guard and hint of high muzzle wear, otherwise solid 98% condition. Fine bore and action. A spectacular, early big bore Smith engraved by a master-class craftsman and set off by lovely original Mother of Pearl two piece grips in near mint condition. Simply stunning.
