Built on a very scarce Model 1902 Webley single shot dropping block large frame action, it appears this rifle was custom finished in 1996 with fitting of 26 - 7/8" nicely contoured Krieger barrel. One standing, three folding leaf express rear sight is in nicely shaped island base. Matching front base holds ivory bead. Bottom of barrel is stamped with action serial number, caliber, "4/96" and barrel smiths initials "S R H". Breech end of barrel is inlaid with three gold bands and caliber is engraved on left side. Case hardened Webley action with automatic tang safety has had back line filed with double ogee decoration. Engraving consists of a very fancy border with exceptionally well cut varying sized scroll enhanced by flowers, all within a flush inlaid gold lines. Serial number is engraved on trigger guard bow. Stunning, exhibition quality intricately burl figured and wildly marbled European walnut capped pistol grip buttstock measures 14" over black leather covered pad. Stock features shadow line enhancements to right hand cheekpiece and side panels. A sling eye is in raised pad on toe line. Grip checkering is perfectly cut in point pattern with deep reverse curves to back lines. Matching forend with ebony tip attaches to barrel with screw through oval color hardened steel escutcheon. Weight: 9 lbs 9 oz. CONDITION: Excellent, near new, as custom finished, with only a few light marks in the satin rust blue on barrel. Some sharp edge wear is on the nicely case colored action. A few scattered very light marks in the superbly oil finished stocks which have crisp lines and sharp edges. Bore is excellent. Mechanically excellent. MGM210.
