The Sporting Model featured the round butt and no lanyard loop. This is a very early model with the front slide serrations and the early spur trigger hammer. Scarce and short-lived production with only 6,927 manufactured from 1903 to 1908. This example was manufactured in 1903, the first year of production for this model. Features the Colt high polish factory blue finish with Colt logo black gutta percha grips. CONDITION: Retains approximately 90% of its original finish with the exception of the backstrap, which is a blue-brown mix. Razor sharp legends. Near mint grips. Fine bore. This is an exceedingly scarce pistol to find with this much factory condition.
