Group identified to Private Robert M. Young, Company G 332nd Infantry. Group consists of: Tunic with triple patch configuration, Italian made bullion 332nd, 83rd Division and 3rd Army patches, discharge chevron , single gold overseas chevron, "USNA" and 332nd Infantry Company G collar disks. Pinned to the chest are: Victory medal with "Italy" bar, Italian War Service medal, Sharpshooter badge and small enameled 332nd Infantry crest: Pair U.S. Army wool trousers and enlisted visor cap. Included are a number of paper items to include: Italian Army leaflet given to U.S. troops serving in Italy: 29 letters to or from Private Young while in Italy or at Camp Merritt New Jersey and miscellaneous cards and letters. A few of the letters show insect damage. Uniform displays a few small scattered holes but generally in very good condition. An uncommon uniform displaying one of the most attractive World War I patches.
