1) Consists of: Wool tunic with 78th Division shoulder patch, bullion Major's rank insignia, "US" and Engineers collar insignia, two gold bullion overseas chevrons, Corps of Engineers buttons. Pinned to the chest is a Victory medal with "Meuse-Argonne" and "Defensive Sector" bars and two American Legion medals: Officer's visor cap: Corps of Engineers piped garrison cap with Majors and Engineer insignia pinned to one side: Pair cased U.S. Army Bausch & Lomb binoculars housed in leather case with compass inset lid: Sam Brown belt with cross belt and 1918 dated .45 holster: Pair leather officer's puttees: Folding leather map case with shoulder strap, marked "R. Duval Saumur": 1917 Engineer Field Manual . Most items are in very good condition displaying minor wear with the exception of the garrison cap with shows heavy wear.
2) Consists of: Wool tunic with First Army Engineers patch, two gold overseas chevrons, "US" and Corps of Engineers collar insignia, bullion captains rank insignia, Engineers buttons. Pinned to the chest are two Spanish-American War veterans medals, 1936 American Legion medal and a 1967 reunion medal for the 14th US Engineer Regiment: Pair of dog tags stamped "Theodore C. Thogerson Capt 14th Engrs Lt Ry" ( 14th Engineers was a light railway unit ): Garrison cap with two-button front, displaying a small Engineer castle and captain rank insignia: Sam Brown belt with cross strap: Pair of cased Bausch & Lomb binoculars with Signal Corps markings: Group of plans, blue prints and photographs relating to engineering projects along the Mississippi River, some addressed to Thogerson. Material is in very good or better condition showing minor wear.
