This lovely deluxe Marlin short rifle features full octagon barrel, full magazine, solid frame, target adjustable folding globe front sight, single leaf folding rear sight, blued finish, case colored frame, lever, and hammer; special tang sight, sling swivels, checkered walnut forearm, checkered pistol grip walnut stock. Factory research shows rifle shipped as a 22" octagon, .30-30 rifle with pistol grip stock on February 24th, 1903. CONDITION: Barrel and tube retain approximately 70% original blue mixed with smooth patina and scattered age freckles. Left side and top of frame retain approximately 50% case colors. 70% case colors on right side of frame. Flashes of colors on lever and hammer. Areas not case colored have a freckled nickel appearance. Traces of fire blue on loading gate. Beautiful deluxe grain walnut stocks with just the usual handling marks, proud to metal. Fine action. The left receiver screw is a poor fitting replacement and needs replacing. Strong, well defined rifled bore.
