6-1/4" barrels with raised sighting rib, silver foresight, double platinum bands at breech. Both pistols marked "LONDON". Back action locks are finely engraved with florals and border, "LACY & CO" in a reserve. Platinum blow-out plugs. Hammers are well engraved with florals and in a dolphin striker. Breeches are heavily engraved. Trigger guard engraved with florals. Front ramrod engraved with checkered pattern. Heavy steel buttcaps with floral engraving and nicely engraved butt screw. Silver thumb pieces. Figured walnut fullstocks with coarsely checkered butts, as befits an officer's pistol. CONDITION: Barrels retain much of an old period rebrown with some minor pitting, most noticeably on sighting rib; one pistol with patch of pitting on left barrel. Trigger guards of both pistols retain considerable original bright peacock blue. Hammers are dark with some surface corrosion. Buttcaps on both pistols are clean. Stirrup ramrods are the originals and crisp. Figured walnut stocks retain nearly all their original varnish. Bores show little, if any use. Oak case with brass split ring in lid, green baise lining. Accessories comprise a good Dixon's patent three-way flask retaining traces of original gilding, a brass bullet mold for both round and conical ball, original ramrod, turnscrew and key. Lining with a few tears but mostly intact and would benefit from a good cleaning. There is a possibility that all four hammers are superb replacements. Still, a fantastic pair of big bore officer's pistols.
