This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 4/25/2019
This rifle features half octagon barrel, full magazine, takedown, sling swivels, steel checkered shotgun buttplate, folding leaf express rear sight, and walnut stocks. An additional folding leaf sight has been installed forward of the original; it was not done at the factory as it goes through part of the barrel address, but was obviously done at the time of original ownership. Factory research shows rifle shipped as a .50 Express, half octagon rifle with plain trigger, takedown, and shotgun butt on March 17th, 1906. CONDITION: All metal is a homogeneous, soft, rich patina. Legends are sharp and readable. Wood is excellent, proud to metal, with just the usual wear. Fine action. Bore has well defined rifling but there is some minor black powder pitting in grooves.
