This beautiful rifle features full octagon barrel, two-thirds loading magazine tube, globe front sight, standing rear sight, tang sight, takedown, case colored hammer, frame and buttplate; grooved walnut forend, checkered deluxe wood, highly finished buttstock, and Winchester hard rubber pistol grip cap. Factory research shows serial number applied June 12th, 1901; caliber "S" (short), checkered stock, pistol grip; shipped from warehouse July 17th, 1901. CONDITION: Barrel and tube retain approximately 95% beautiful Winchester blue with a few minor handling marks. Razor sharp edges and legends. 90% high polish blue on bolt. 75-85% original case colors on frame with some light age freckling and toning. Lower tang is greyed out. Stocks are beautiful with fiery grain and a few handling marks. Case colors on buttplate are faded. Screw heads are true. Fine action. Strong, visible rifling. One of the finest, deluxe Model 1890's we have ever offered. You will search a long time before you will find another deluxe 1890 as nice as this due to the low production as they were intended for boys.
