9-3/4" octagonal barrels with silver foresights and pronounced damascus pattern. Bolted back action locks with sparse floral engraving. Hammers with sparse floral engraving en suite. Spurred white brass trigger guards engraved en suite with locks and hammers. Buttcaps appear to be silver, engraved with sunburst. Figured walnut stocks, finely checkered at butt with chip carved swelled buttcap and heavily carved forend. Pistols overall 17-1/3". CONDITION: Barrels have old period re-brown. Locks polished bright. Furniture is crisp. Stocks retain some original finish; one pistol with extremely minor tight crack just forward of cock screw on left side. Bores are fair. Mahogany veneered case with only minor damage; green baise lining is nearly pristine. Accessories comprise mallet, turnscrew, nipple wrench, original re-blued bullet mold, brush, worm, and ramrod. Case retains its original key. A large and very attractive pair of mid-19th century continental dueling pistols.
