Factory letter states this rifle shipped with two other Model 1894's on January 17th, 1905 in .38-55 caliber with half octagon barrel, half magazine, plain trigger, plain wood, checkered stock, pistol grip, takedown, and shotgun butt. It remains true to that configuration today, exactly as shipped. Standard features include sporting front sight, Winchester sporting rear sight, blued finish, case colored hammer and lever. CONDITION: Rifle remains in all original, high condition. Retains 97% original blue on barrel with some high edge wear at muzzle and a couple of minor handling marks. Legends and edges are sharp. 98% original blue on takedown magazine, forend cap, and takedown ring. Bridge of frame has flaked to soft patina. Sides of frame retains 98% original high polish blue, as does base and bolt. 90% case colors on sides of hammer and lever. Stocks are excellent, proud to metal, with just a few minor impressions. Fine action. Mirror bore. A truly exceptional condition all original deluxe rifle with a brilliant configuration.
