10" octagonal barrels with French proof on underside. Front action bolted locks with sparse foliate engraving and borders. Hammers engraved en suite, as are breeches; one pistol numbered "1" and the other "2". Trigger guards and buttcaps sparsely engraved en suite. Highly figured deluxe walnut half stocks with fluted butts and carved forends. The ebonized case with royal blue lining and full address in lid "H. ROCHATTE / 97. RUE RICHELIEU / ET PASGE DES PRINCES / PARIS". Accessories comprise original ramrod, one with jag, original bullet mold, powder measure, mallet of highly figured wood, two cap boxes, nipple wrench, turnscrew. All accessories appear to be original. Case itself in good condition with some minor veneer lifting on lid. Pistols are 17" overall. CONDITION: Barrels retains nearly all of the possibly period refinish. Locks and hammers retain some bright polish with no pitting. All mounts are crisp with little if any wear. Actions work crisply. Wood rates excellent with only very minor handling marks. Accessories are all good. Bores are excellent. A very handsome and complete set of high quality French dueling pistols.
