The 6" barrel of Blunderbuss form with large molded bell muzzle and 1" bore. 4" snap bayonet with blood groove. Brass frame engraved with trophies of arms on left and right flat. Double necked flintlock hammer is plain and unengraved, as is the frizzen. Austere push-on safety. Steel trigger guard with sunburst engraving. Plain uncheckered walnut butt. Overall 12-1/2". CONDITION: Brass is unpolished with crisp engraving and only minor marks. Bayonet with a number of dents. Hammer with only minor rust staining. Top jaw and screw appear original to the pistol. Frizzen with deep, even, aged brown. Trigger guard stained but with no serial pitting. Walnut butt appears original to the pistol with one minor type crack on left side. Strong action. Spring for snap bayonet a bit weak. Ramrod possibly the original. A very showy and attractive late 18th century Blunderbuss pistol.
