2-1/2" octagonal barrel with Patridge front sight and integral rear sight. Barrel is numbered 611 with crown "U" proof. The so-called folding trigger Bergmann is far rarer than the similar pistol which is commonly found and has a trigger guard. Like all Bergmann's, Serial No. 87 features the little man with a hammer in a circle on the right side of the sideplate reading "GAGGENAU VCS SUHL". CONDITION: Very fine. Metal retains nearly all its original blue finish with some spotting throughout. Frame and action retain most of their original blue finish with some fading and spotting. Folding trigger retains nearly all of its original straw color, as do working parts. Safety retains nearly all of its bright nitre blue. Hammer retains nearly all of its original straw. Walnut grips have crisp checkering throughout. The screw and inscription have some raised rust and screw is damaged. Frame screw with some raised rust as well. Action of gun is sticky and needs to be disassembled and cleaned. Bore is good with some minor corrosion but should clean better. This is an extremely rare pistol and should appeal to the most advanced collector of automatics.
