There are over 70 Parker 1/2 frame guns known by an interested person, who has been logging them, this gun is included in the list. It is a late Remington era Parker with 28" barrels, all correct markings are on barrel flats and water table including Remington date code "DK" (September 1941), as well as chokes "mod" and "full". Slim 1/2 frame has Ilion markings along with grade and serial number on water table. Action also features automatic safety and nickel plated double triggers. It is engraved in late Parker "D" style with varying sized scroll framing dogs on sides; setter on left, pointer on right; and "PARKER" on bottom. Trigger plate is engraved with trio of pheasant. Blued trigger guard has scroll on bow and serial number on tang. Well marbled and lightly figured European walnut "Parker Ilion" capped pistol grip buttstock measures 14-3/8" over checkered wood butt. Stock also features checkered side panels, lozenge shaped drop points, and point pattern checkering at grip. Matching splinter ejector forend with typical latch, is only marked with serial number on iron. CONDITION: Very fine, as partially refinished. Barrels retain approximately 90% of an older re-blue with some subsequent marks, most notably a 3" long scuff on side of right barrel 4" from breech end. Action retains approximately 30% original case hardening color, strong where protected, the balance a hand worn pewter gray. Stocks retain nearly all of a complete refinish/restoration by Larry DelGrego with a few subsequent fairly deep scratches. Checkering lightly worn. Bores are excellent. Mechanically fine. Gun is housed in tan leather case lined in green felt. This fine Parker measures and handles very well. MGM158.
