(Circa 1909) This fine custom rifle has 26" half round half octagon barrel fitted with quarter rib specially milled for target scope blocks. A sling eye is banded on. Original Winchester Model 1885 thick side high wall action fitted with single set trigger is blued and engraved with 80% coverage nicely cut varying sized scroll within geometric and feather borders. Consignor notes that engraving is by Howard Grant of Lac Du Flambeau, Wisconsin. Custom stocks are by Fashingbauer, and feature roll-over shadow line right hand cheekpiece, chinstrap transition to grip, ebony forend tip, and well cut borderless Fleur-de-Lis checkering with leaves and ribbons extending into and through pattern. Stock measures 13-1/2" over checkered steel buttplate with trap. Rifle is fitted with a Unertl 6X scope with exceptionally fine crosshair and dot reticle in micrometer rings. Rifle is also fitted with tan leather sling in Model 70 type detachable swivels. Weight with scope: 10 lbs 2 oz. CONDITION: Excellent, essentially as new, custom finished with only a few exceptionally light handling marks in all fine finishes, most notably some very light scratches on butt. Bore is excellent. Mechanically excellent. Scope is excellent. Optically clear. MGM223.
