Colt Frontier Six Shooter with 4-3/4" barrel chambered for the .44-40 Winchester cartridge and fitted with two piece Mother of Pearl grips. Roll die barrel markings with two line Colt Hartford barrel address. Traverse smokeless pattern frame with two line patent with rampant Colt. Matching serial numbers are observed on frame. Trigger guard and backstrap. Mother of Pearl grips are full sized and very well fitting. Wonderfully engraved in a New York style with clamshell patterns on recoil shields and wide scrolls and leaves on barrel and frame. Extensive engraving amounts over 75% coverage and is exquisitely executed. CONDITION: Very good as earlier refinished. The bore is very good with several very minor areas of slight pitting. The action and lock up are very good. The exterior finish is very fine with most all reapplied nickel finish remaining. Evidence of earlier pitting exist in the cylinder flutes. The Mother of Pearl grips are full sized and still brilliant.
