2-1/2" turn off smoothbore barrels with cannon muzzles. Brass frame engraved with scrolls and "STANTON LONDON" is a riband. Double neck cock, one with repair. Trigger guards engraved with a flower. Walnut butts inlaid throughout their length with flowers, sprays, a shell design, and silver wire. Silver grotesque masks buttcaps, cast and chased in high relief. 8-1/2" overall. CONDITION: Brass with wear to engraving and maker's name. Steel trigger guards well worn with some patination and pitting. Frizzens grey metal with some rust and pitting. As previously noted, hammer on one pistol has been repaired and welded; top jaw with later blue as a result. Actions on both guns are crisp. Walnut butts with nearly all their original silver wire intact, and only minor marks. Silver grotesque mask butt in fine condition with little wear. Good bores. Cased in an elaborate vertical associated case of Burl walnut. No lining in lid, purple velvet lining in base. Accessories include a leather covered brass powder flask, associated bullet mold with barrel key, cap box, oil bottle, and ramrod. An attractive set.
