Widely used during the first World War, it is basically a large Colt New Service six shot double action revolver that is not highly polished and was finished in a dull blue phosphate style, had an added lanyard loop. All were chambered for the .45 ACP Colt 1911 round that needed half moon clips to hold them into the cylinder. Other features include two piece smooth walnut grips. Bottom of barrel is stamped "UNITED STATES PROPERTY", bottom of grip butt is stamped "U.S. ARMY MODEL 1917" along with "NO. 105661". You can find the Springfield inspector stamp on top left side of frame along with Colt pony. CONDITION: Revolver retains nearly all of its original finish with just a light drag line and a couple minor spots of high edge wear. About as nice as you could hope to find condition wise. Fine bore and action. Comes with original lanyard.
