Straight tapered spadroon blade with wide fuller and narrow partial fuller as well as a 10" false edge. Sterling silver hilt hallmarked for London 1785, guard has 19 shaped piercings as well as roped outer edges. Engraved lion's head pommel with ebony grip wrapped with three strands of silver wire. Complete with black leather scabbard. CONDITION: Blade shows some wear and scattered areas of light pitting, cleaned to grey patina. Hilt is polished and has scattered marks from use and a few minor repairs, capstan replaced. Leather scabbard has a period replaced section near top and tip is absent. A very attractive and ornate officer's sword.
