The US Model 1909 is basically a New Service large frame revolver that was ordered by the US Government. Features six shot, double action, fluted cylinder, blued finish, walnut grips, and lanyard ring. Left side of the frame has inspector stamp "FB" Francis Baker, who only inspected the 1909 Colt, and "RAC" Renaldo Carr. Bottom of the barrel is stamped "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" and is "RAC" stamped. Back of cylinder is "RAC" stamped as well. Butt is stamped "US ARMY MODEL 1909". Colt pony on left side of frame is faint; all other markings sharp. CONDITION: Retains approximately 75% of the reapplied blued finish. Grips are very good with usual dings; no inspector stamps. Indexes and locks up fine. Strong rifled bore with some light frosting. Comes with a "RIA" 1911 dated U.S. Holster in excellent condition with toe plug. These were issued just prior to the introduction of the 1911; they were used in the Banana Wars and many saw action during the first World War as well. Low production and survival rate.
