Offered is an all original Rock Island Arsenal 1903 Model made 1917-19 that has a 1938-40 re-inspection check stamp "SA SPG" along with original "WJS" stamp for Rock Island Arsenal 1918-20 inspector Wm. Sheriffs. All pre-1920 parts and finish including wide finger groove two bolt stock, straight bolt, knurled and grooved rear sight adjustment knobs, high hump handguard, milled parts. CONDITION: 80% original blue finish on frame, thinning on barrel. Stocks are excellent, dark wood, with minor bumps and smooth buttplate. ME reading: 1.5. TE reading: 2. Nothing looks redone since made during World War I, simply a later stamp showing it was re-inspected. Scarce World War I era Rock Island 1903 with period sling.
