Heavy, upswept clip point blade, over 2" in width at widest point, finely made and with little sign of use. Shaped iron S-guard and brass ferrule mate to a finely made rosewood handle that is octagonal in cross section. End nut securing blade to handle is made of brass and seems to have some gold plating on it. Well made leather sheath. c. 1830s-1860s. CONDITION: the blade appears unsharpened with some tiny nicks in the edge, one crack in handle. Original sheath has shrunk a little and about half of the stitching has been cut.
