This French and Indian War powder horn iincludes a receipt on Guthman Americana letterhead dated June, 2000 and signed by Bill Guthman. Also included are three 1875 stereoviews of Fort Edward taken by photographer W.H. Dunwick. One of the images is hand signed by Dunwick and all are annotated in ink, each is 7" x 3-3/8" mounted on orange cardboard cards. The horn has a tapered 15-1/2 inch curved three-stage body. Rounded spout section with three stepped rings. Other two sections separated by serrated edge. Body engraved with horizontal panel inscribed "Horace Powers his horn Made att Foart Edward Augst. ye 30th 1756". Above and below the inscription are foliate designs. Flat wooden plug. CONDITION: Light honey patina and a dry overall surface, showing some carrying wear. Flange at base has broken off and absent, some losses and damage to spout.
