Lot consists of: (A) A glaive, 18" and 5" wide of well forged obviously ancient possibly 17th century or earlier steel. (B) A second of classic halberd type with fluke, spike, and blade all with unknown marks. (C) The third halberd head likely made by the same blacksmith of unknown age and origin with double blade and single spike. The glaive appears to be on an original pole, likely shortened. CONDITION: The first with rust and pitting to be expected of a polearm of this period. The other two with deep even age rust and are of uncertain origin and date. A most interesting lot for the aficionado of ancient polearms.
