Lot consists of: (A) Klingenthal 1830's period Louis Phillipine French Court Sword with single fullered blade. High polished ebony wood grip with fancy brass clamshell guard and knights head pommel. Highly polished ebony wood grip. No scabbard present. CONDITION: Excellent overall. Blade is straight with no dents or nicks and is mirror bright with no pitting or rust. Grips are original and tight. Brass is uncleaned and shows dark gold patina and color. (B) M1840 NCO sword with original scabbard and remnants of leather frog. Blade is marked to left side of ricasso: "EMERSON & SILVER TRENTON." Right side of ricasso is marked: "U.S. 1863." Brass hilt and pommel are tight and guard is inspector marked: "DEH." Original iron scabbard retains 50% black lacquer finish. Brass drag and throat both stamped with rack number "80." CONDITION: Blade is straight with no nicks or rust and displays dark gray mossing overall. PROVENANCE: Dr. Frank Wagner cavalry museum collection.
