Lot consists of: (A) M1913 Patton Saber with left side of ricasso stamped: "S-A" with ordnance bursting bomb insignia. Right side of ricasso is marked "US" with serial number: 14539. Scabbard is OD green painted canvas. CONDITION: Excellent overall with original factory bright blade. No dents or nicks are visible on the blade. Light scuffs vertically on length of blade are from scabbard wear. Original factory counter polish is present and ends 2" forward of the ricasso. Original leather washer is present at bottom of blade. Grips and guard are straight with no dents. Original leather sword knot is present as well as a fine reproduction cavalry frog and hanger. (B) M1913 Patton Saber with left side of ricasso marked: "L.F.&C. 1918" (Landers, Frary & Clark) with ordnance bursting bomb. Right side of ricasso is stamped: "U.S. No. 13" CONDITION: Blade is overall very good but has been painted black along with guard and grip. Leather sword knot is present. Original khaki covered scabbard is solid with no soft spots. PROVENANCE: Dr. Frank Wagner cavalry collection.
