Lot consists of: (A) Model 1876 canvas prairie belt. Full length with all .45-70 loops intact and tight stitching. Watervliet Arsenal stamp is still legible. 12 1884 and 1885 head stamped cartridges included. (B) Circa 1890's private purchase .38 caliber cartridge belt with 45 loops, and yellow stitching accents most likely for a cavalry officer. (C) Cast brass Model 1872 pattern buckle with its original dark brown leather belt with brass keeper. The leather is pliable with no rot or splits. Little to no verdigris build-up on the brass buckle and other brass fittings. (D) Circa Spanish American War dark blue US Mills Woven Cartridge Belt with Pattern 1890 US cast brass plate. Belt has row of 45 single loops for the .45-70 US Model 1884 Trapdoor Rifle. Excellent condition with all loops present with tight stitching and original Mills web and brass fittings. (E) Pattern of 1898 .30-40 Krag carbine cavalry cartridge belt with saber hook attached. Belt is near mint and was most likely un-issued. (F) Scarce Mills cavalry web belt with 50 loops for .30-40 Krag rifle rounds and six double loops for .38 caliber pistol cartridges. Retains the rare brass saber/sword hanger. Webbing and brass are perfect with no tears or loose stitching. Cast brass US "H" buckle is solidly attached. CONDITION: Very good overall. PROVENANCE: Dr. Frank Wagner cavalry museum collection.
