Lot consists of: (A) Set of regulation 7th Cavalry pattern 1872 officer's shoulder knots. Slight tarnishing to the bullion cord, but yellow wool pillows are bright with no fading or mothing. Indigo blue wool on underside is perfect as well. Each epaulette is missing it's button, but attachment screw is present. These are a very rare and highly sought after set from Custer's regiment. Maker marked to attachment arms: "J.H. McKENNEY NEW YORK." (B) 1902 Cavalry officer's shoulder knots for full dress uniform. Original gold gilt high relief federal eagle buttons are present and solidly attached. (C) Set of Pattern 1872 Medical Department officer's shoulder knots. Midnight blue pillows with silver bullion thread "MD" and lieutenants insignia. Underside wool has approximately six moth nips per epaulette. (D) Circa 1880's set of militia officer's shoulder knots. Undersides are covered in polished cotton with light stamp on each epaulette still visible: "RIDABOCK & CO. FORMERLY BAKER 7 McKENNEY NEW YORK." (E) Red wool 1880's militia band shoulder knots with brown polished cotton backing and brass hooks. CONDITION: Very good overall. PROVENANCE: Dr. Frank Wagner cavalry museum collection.
