Limited edition bronze titled: 'INDIAN VICTOR.' Two Indian warriors are depicted in the vignette enjoying the spoils of war from their victory over Custer's 7th Cavalry. They are holding M-1873 Springfield carbines and one warrior is blowing a bugle while the other sports a kepi. Other discarded "trapdoor" carbines and Colt single action .45 caliber revolvers litter the ground. Number 24 of 25 produced. Rogers Aston (1918-1999) was from Roswell, New Mexico. He was a rancher, oilman, collector, and artist. He was commissioned to do a life-size bronze infantryman at the New Mexico Military Institute. He was well-known for his attention to detail and for his portrayal of action, especially in Indian Wars subjects. CONDITION: Excellent overall. PROVENANCE: Dr. Frank Wagner cavalry museum collection.
