A scarce (most likely) Mora sepia toned albumen cabinet image taken just a few months before Custer was killed at the Little Bighorn battle. In this sitting he is wearing the M1872 dress uniform of a Lieut. Colonel of cavalry, with gold chest cords, and gold and blue "Russian" style shoulder knots. This image is also found in a carte de visite (CDV) sized image, but the larger formats are exceedingly rare to find. CONDITION: Rates 90% with great inside image clarity unaffected by the clipped/chipped corners. PROVENANCE: Dr. Frank Wagner cavalry museum collection.

Condition: (Good).

Item Dimensions: (6.5" H x 4" W).
