Lot consists of: A) 'List Of Cadets Admitted Into The United States Military Academy, West Point, N. Y., From Its Origin, Till September 1, 1886 With Tables Exhibiting The Results Of Examinations For Administration And The Corps To Which The Graduates Have Been Promoted.' Printed in Washington by the Government Printing Office in 1887. This softcover pamphlet covers the roster of cadets from the inception of the military academy at West Point until 1887. Example is a first edition 72 pages in length with pages tight to spine, with minor edge wear and flaking. No staining or foxing to the interior and overall in very good condition. Very scarce USMA related ephemera with prominent officers noted: Grant, Custer, Sheridan, Lee, Sherman, Crook, etc. B)'The Official Army Register of January 1876.' This valuable research resource lists all the officer's and staff of every US infantry, artillery, and cavalry unit. First edition, published by the Adjutant General's Office, Washington DC. 260 pages plus foldout charts and addenda. CONDITION: A very good copy with later marbled covers added. Contains all the officers that later became casualties at the Battle of Little Big Horn later in the summer of 1876. PROVENANCE: Dr. Frank Wagner cavalry museum collection.
