In original wood case, painted steel body, mahogany handle. Instrument marked “U.S. COAST GUARD, MARK II / NUMBER 62 1942”, made by the Pioneer Instrument Company. Case contains accessories and key. Mahogany case with form-fitting interior, brass fittings. Interior lid has a U.S. Naval Observatory paper label dated 1942 with serial number “62”, front with brass plate repeating sextant markings and serial number. Excellent condition showing minor wear only.
