June 12-13, 2019 Edged Weapon, Armor, & Militaria
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/12/2019
Lot consists of: (A) Fairly typical example of a World War II British No. 69 grenade. It is in excellent physical condition but has no X’s and only small remnants of painted markings. Plugs are intact, as is the weight and tape in the fuze. (B) Another World War II No. 69 grenade, this one has the red plastic body associated with Australian manufacture. It is in fine physical condition with the exception of the bottom plug, which appears to have been ground flat in order to stand well on a display shelf. The body has no painted markings, but is embossed on the base with “No. 69”, “1942” and a “C” overlaying an “R”. The fuze has no tape or weight. (C) Unremarkable example of a UK World War II No. 36 Mills Bomb. In good condition, it has matching body marks and spoon (H&B, Howard & Bullough) however the bottom plug is a mismatch from a Canadian manufacturer (FW 12-40, Frost & Woods). There is a small EOD inert hole in the side.
