One of the previous owner’s personal recoveries from the World War II India/Burma theaters during World War II, this is a the only known example of its type. A rough cylindrical ceramic body, it has a dirty-white appearance and no fuze. The body is in good condition with no cracks or chips and contains heavy gauge chopped wire which was used for fragmentation. This grenade is covered in the British “Japanese Ammunition Leaflets” compiled and printed at Kirkee, India in 1945, the only known documentation of the grenade.
