Lot consists of: (A) An example of the US World War I MKI Defensive fragmentation grenade, this one is missing the top cap, pull pin and striker. The soft lead fuze is in good condition and the threads are undamaged. It also has the foundry mark of N. (B) US standard for nearly 50 years, this is an MKII. Late or post World War II this example has the solid wide base, the only foundry mark is a ‘3’. The fuze has the black painted tip indicating it was refurbished. The grenade is in excellent condition with the original paint exhibiting handling wear, it has the painted yellow neck ring and was not dipped. (C) US MKII, body only. It has the small base, threaded with no plug present. No foundry mark can be found; it has high rounded shoulder typical of some of the earlier grenades. There is moderate corrosion, no paint or markings.
