June 12-13, 2019 Edged Weapon, Armor, & Militaria
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/12/2019
Lot consists of: (A) A seldom seen grenade is this World War I Italian Lenticolare M14 Disc grenade. In fine/excellent condition with the fuse clip intact, it is missing only the small copper guide at the top of the fuze body to lead in the safety fuse. (B) Looking very much like the larger World War I Austrian Zeitzunder, this is the smaller Italian Granata Carbone, also used during World War I. While having light surface corrosion, the grenade is overall in fine condition. The handle is well preserved and the body is in great condition with the cast letters identifying the grenade still legible on the side. The steel cap covering the fuze is intact with safety pin and pull tab, this is a great example of a difficult to find grenade.
