Lot consists of:(A) Smith & Wesson US Army Model 1917 double action revolver. Built on N-frame, five screw, pinned barrel, six shot fluted cylinder with smooth walnut grips and missing lanyard. Butt is stamped "US ARMY MODEL 1917" and Ordnance bomb on left side of frame. CONDITION: There is a number six in circle scratched right side of frame and "USMC" stamped on left grip. 90% of a matte reapplied blue finish with some light salt and pepper under finish. Legends readable. Grips worn. Action is fine and bore is sharp and clean. (B) Remington single shot Mk III signal/flare pistol. Brass frame with smooth walnut grips and round blue barrel with tip-up barrel for loading. This takes a 10 bore cartridge and is referred to as the "Very Pistol". It was used by the US Navy prior to World War I and then adopted by the Army. Remington got the contract and produced 20,460 pistols by December of 1918. CONDITION: 90% matte blue finish on barrel, dull brass and excellent walnut grips.
