Lot contains: (A) Japanese World War II Infantry Officer's Kyu Gunto sword. Features a slightly curved single fuller steel blade with temper line, brass guard chased with Japanese florals and an ebony grip wrapped with strands of brass wire. Complete with black scabbard with gold painted mounts. CONDITION: Good. Blade has some scattered dark areas and hilt retains a mostly unpolished patina with generous traces of gilt finish. Scabbard with some minor denting and minor losses to finish. (B) Another, as described above but with a smaller hilt and a nickel plated scabbard. CONDITION: Good. Blade with some minor freckling and marks from scabbard. Hilt retains a dark patina with generous traces of gilt finish in protected areas. Scabbard with some frosting and freckling. (C) Type 1899 Model 32B Japanese Cavalry sword. Features slightly curved single edge and single fuller steel blade. Left side of ricasso stamped with "76111". Blade appears to be plated and has been sharpened. Steel guard with checkered backstrap and checkered wooden grip. Guard and steel scabbard are nickel plated. CONDITION: Good. Blade has some marks from scabbard and shows sharpening marks. Scabbard and hilt are frosted and have some freckling overall. (D) Meiji period tanto with hiratsukuri blade with 7 - 1/2" length. Tsugha mon, sentoku mounts highlighted with silver. Adventurine scabbard missing kozuka and kojai and kojiri. CONDITION: Blade is stained but no major pitting and no chips. Mounts rate good. String wrap about to come undone, needs attention. Scabbard with scattered losses.
